TBS Unify Pro Nano 5G8

MY REVIEW

This is the TBS Unify Pro Nano, which just might be the single best VTX for whoops at the time of this review. That's because it's not only the cheapest but also lightest VTX you can get right now, all while still maintaining the range and signal clarity that TBS has come to be known by. This VTX also has an extra power and ground pad that you can solder your camera to, which is extra convenient for using the popular FC's for racing today, as they often don't have dedicated camera power pads.

The one downside is that I've heard the smart audio will sometimes stop working on this VTX. This would be a dealbreaker for me except there is actually a fix. Soldering the appropriate resistor between the smart audio and ground pad on the vtx seems to completely fix this issue every time. I haven't tried this myself, so don't take it as an official recommendation, but I do know that this is what some of the top pilots are doing!

I am going to be including the necessary resistor in every order of this vtx!

There’s one more downside that I’ve come to realize and that’s that this VTX does not support pit mode. This isn’t an issue for me as I don’t personally use pit mode, and I still feel this VTX is worth it due to the price, weight and performance, but if you’re one of those people that absolutely need pit mode, this isn’t the VTX for you!
